About Us

Cato Cardiology is a specialist practice based around a number of cardiologists who have trained and worked at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. The practice originally started in the Private Medical Centre at Royal Melbourne Hospital in Parkville but in 2005, moved its main office to East Hawthorn.  In October 2013 we relocated to Epworth Camberwell, Ground Floor, Suite 3, 888 Toorak Road, Camberwell.  We continue to consult from the private medical centre at the Royal Melbourne Hospital.  Our services at Camberwell include echocardiography, stress ECG, stress echo,  24 Hour Blood Pressure monitors and 24 Holter monitors.  We also perform echocardiography at our rooms in Parkville and for inpatients at Epworth Camberwell.
 
Our doctors admit patients to several private hospitals, including Melbourne Private Hospital, Western Private Hospital, Epworth Richmond, Epworth Camberwell and Epworth Freemasons. All of our doctors support the public hospital system and most are members of the Cardiology Department of the Royal Melbourne Hospital.
 
Our doctors have expertise in all areas of cardiology including the urgent management of patients with chest pain or arrhythmias and the long-term management of patients with chronic cardiac conditions.  We are active in the education of medical students, trainee doctors and throughout the wider medical profession.  We see patients from the local area and from regional and rural locations.
 
We have a dedicated staff of a Practice Manager, Medical Secretaries, Receptionists and Cardiac Technologists.
